"The Uncalled Four" was the name chosen by 4 of my friends when we decided to play D&D some time in 2018-ish. Since then, some have left the group, and others have joined, so the number 4 doesn't make as much sense anymore. Regardless, it's has been and still is a lot of fun (I hope).
I've DM'd the entire time, and given that I spent a large part of my teenage years playing B/X D&D (Moldvay Basic and Cook Expert) sets, I've stuck with those rules, or OSR rulesets that are closely related. This works well because my friends and I never really played B/X RAW. As I started playing in the late 70's, I have played Original, Holmes Basic, B/X, BECMI, and Advanced D&D, and my teen friends and I really just mixed and matched what we liked from all those rules. For the Uncalled Four, I've stuck with TSR modules from that era so far. It's been fun to re-visit some of the classics, and some I had never actually played.
Given that we started playing in-person with miniatures, then the COVID-19 pandemic happened, and some players live further away or have since moved out of state (something I'm doing soon too), we've transitioned over time from in-person to hybrid in-person/VTT, to fully VTT. Honestly, I've had to learn to make maps for VTTs, but I'm not great at it. I've relied as much as possible on Jon Pintar's Realistic Maps for Old Modules when I can, or finding maps on r/battlemaps or r/dndmaps rather than make my own.
So here are some session write-ups. Some of these are not really complete, either because I haven't added them yet, or because they happened years ago and I don't even have write-ups for them:
